Kate Policastro
Owner and Head Groomer
Dogs have always been a part of my life. At 13 years old, I started in 4-H club training and showing my Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier.
After my first grooming seminar in 2016 I quit my job and opened my first salon. I saw a better way to take care of my best friends and yours’.
I love a Saluki and Afghan Hound but Tobi was my love. A Red Siberian Husky. He is the reason I am where I am.

Sydney Kupiec
Lead Groomer
I started grooming as a part time job in high school, little did I know it would become my career. I love to incorporate creative, whimsical aspects into both pet and breed standard grooms. My favorite breed is a tie between Black Russian Terrier and Briard. At home I have George, an American Foxhound, and Major, a Standard Poodle.

Ria Ward
Groomer
I’ve always loved animals and nature, but I actually fell into pet grooming by chance. Now, I think it’s the best job in the world.
It’s my personal philosophy that dog grooming is a team effort between the groomer and the dog where mutual trust and love for the dog is key. I enjoy doing unique styles like mohawks and working with pet-safe hair dye. My goal is to care for the dogs and put out quality work such that not only is
the client excited to come back, but so is the dog!

Caitlin Banney
Receptionist/Bather
I started grooming in Arizona at the beginning of 2020 and continued working with dogs when I moved back to NY at the end of 2020. I quickly understood that this was my calling in life.
When I rescued my first dog in 2017, an Australian Shephard/ Pit Bull/ Chow Chow mix named Arlie and she threw me into the world of dog training, dog behaviors and advocating for rescues over-coming reactivity and fear.
I am so excited to be working with the girls at Shampooches where I know I’ll grow and learn so much more about how to make YOUR dog have the best groom possible.

Amelia Melgarejo
Groomer
Having loved dogs and art, I decided to pursue pet grooming and got my certification in 2022.
I have a beagle named Orion and a poodle/chihuahua/terrier mix named Rocky, who are my greatest inspirations in my pet grooming journey. One of the best moments is seeing how happy a dog is after their groom, knowing that they feel just as good too.
I’m thrilled to be a part of the ShamPooches team and to work alongside such talented, caring groomers.

Amber Barke
Groomer
From a young age, I was immersed in a world filled with the companionship of animals, from horses, dogs, cats, and every creature that captured my heart in between. That lifelong love naturally guided me toward working with pets, and in 2015 I began bathing dogs for a friend employed by a mobile groomer. What started as a simple favor quickly became a calling. By 2018, determined to turn my passion into a profession, I completed my dog grooming certification course and stepped fully into the grooming world.
That same year, I began grooming for a mobile business in Westchester County, where I honed my skills, built relationships with clients, and discovered just how rewarding the work could be. I continued grooming there until last year, when I welcomed my first son into the world. Life soon brought me to Dutchess County, where I now proudly continue my grooming journey with Shampooches. Every day, I feel grateful to be doing what I love by helping pets look and feel their best, one groom at a time
